Sculptures and Paintings by Andrew Baldwin and Brian Bushell
15 – 22 September 2007, 11am – 7pm
Sunday 16 September 2007, 8pm
Screening and Sound Performance by Ampersand and Mitsuka
Venue: The Chain Store. Free admission

A collaborative exhibition of sculptures and paintings inspired by Greek mythology, drawing on the tales of the inventor Daedalus and his son Icarus. Andrew Baldwin presents a large-scale steel and aluminium moving sculpture that contrasts with Brian Bushell’s dark and atmospheric oil paintings. This is the artists’ fourth collaborative exhibition.

In conjunction with the exhibition Daedalus & Son,there will be a live performance by experimental sound artists Ampersand with a screening of a specially commissioned film by video artist Mitsuka on Sunday 16 September at 8pm.

South London based, Ampersand, use recycled and found objects to produce sonic sculptures and random noise which meld together to create multifaceted layers of sound. For more information visit www.ampersand.tv

Germany based video artist Mitsuka works with found footage. Existing film material is deconstructed and restructured into new formations to create a new aesthetic and content, questioning conventional film standards.
